WHAT HAPPENS ON SUNDAY THE ORCHARD COMMUNITY WELCOME

Women’s Bible Study

In order to meet the needs of as many women as possible, we’ve decided to offer two different Bible studies this Fall! Look for a registration table on the patio in the weeks before we begin.

Tuesday Nights

Life-Lesson-Women's Bible Study7-8:45 pm in the Library
Begins Sept 6, 2016
On Tuesday nights, we will be offering a study titled “Life Lessons from Jesus”. When Jesus walked the earth, there were many theories about who he was—healer, revolutionary, king. But there’s one description that nobody can deny—Teacher! Jesus had a unique way of challenging people’s thinking and giving them a new perspective. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14.6).
The book for the study is “The Life Lessons of Jesus” by Hybles and Ortberg. We will have copies available for $20.

Wednesday Mornings

Jonah-Poster9:30 – 11:30 am in Worship Building.
Begins Sept 7, 2016
Interruptions. Though we might wish to avoid them, our lives are full of things that interrupt the plans we’ve set for our lives. Things like a job change, a new baby, a crumbling economy disrupting our retirement nest egg, or another year of singleness when we long for marriage. When these interruptions happen, we’re shocked, shaken, forced to change (when we might not want to), and are challenged to take on new responsibilities. Through it all, we have a tendency to cling to our own plans instead of embracing God’s purposes for us. Join us this Fall as we study the story of Jonah and how he discovered that, when faced with a life interrupted, yielding to God is the best move forward into the life God has in store for us.
In my distress I called to the Lord and He answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and You listened to my cry.” (Jonah 2:2 )
The book for the study is “Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted” by Priscilla Shirer. We will have copies available for $20.
