Ron Urzua came to faith in the mid-80s and through God’s grace was rescued from a lifestyle of addictions. He received his theological training from Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, CA) and the Lay Leader Training Institute of the Presbytery of Santa Barbara. Ron is also the senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Santa Paula. Ron has been a full-time pastor since 1996 and has served three different churches in the Ventura County area. Ron is also a certified subcontracted Mental Health First Aid instructor for Ventura County Behavioral Health. He has taught positive choices classes to teens at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice facility and in most of the local middle schools and high schools. When Ron is not involved in the community and church, he is a lover of the outdoors, especially long-range tuna fishing, fly fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson. Originally from Santa Barbara, he moved to Ventura County 19 years ago with his wife Veronica and their five children to launch a new church. Pastor Ron and his wife currently reside in Santa Paula with their two youngest children.
Bob Ashley – I have been teaching for about 30 years. My real job, I work for the Los Angeles City Fire Department. I have worked as a paramedic, educator, 911 call taker, and helped create on new dispatch system. I grew up in Oxnard and have lived in Ventura for over 20 years. I have been the first aid and CPR instructor for Sonshine Preschool for about 15 years. Love what I do, and teach on the side because I really enjoy it.
