Thanks and Giving
As we come to the Holiday season, we begin with Thanksgiving. The word “thanksgiving” means being thankful for what we have been given. This is something we surely want to do. But these two words are also interrelated on a deeper level, and it all starts with God. Biblical stewardship is the recognition that all we have and all we are is a gift from God. When we realize this key spiritual truth, it changes our lives and perspective and should bring forth a response from us of both thanks and giving!
Our understanding of stewardship starts with knowing that we have a God of abundance who provides for us, however, living into this truth requires a leap of faith!
Because our God of abundance so graciously provides for us, we are filled with thankfulness/gratitude.
2 Corinthians 8:1-7
Our thankfulness for God’s gracious provision leads us to put our faith into action through generosity with our time, talent and treasure.
