Women of Orchard Community Church grow in faith and friendship through various ministries, groups, and activities both on and off-campus. We offer several small groups for women of all ages and stages of life. The goal is to be and have a place of support and encouragement through the ups and downs of everyday life, to grow deeper in our understanding of God’s word, and to know fully the power of God’s love.
Spring Women’s Bible Study
Does God speak to us today? Although most of us can talk with ease to our best friend, many of us aren’t so good at being quiet and hearing what our friend has to say. So it is with God. For true communication to happen with Him, we must learn to listen through understanding His Word. In Listening to God, Dr. Charles Stanley presents a sound way to explore God’s Word and hear His truths. He reveals how we can identify with passages of Scripture, reflect on their meaning, and then develop practical steps to apply what we have learned. The Charles F. Stanley Bible Study Series is a unique approach to Bible study, incorporating biblical truth, personal insights, emotional responses, and a call to action. Each study draws on Dr. Stanley’s many years of teaching the guiding principles found in God’s Word, showing how we can apply them in practical ways to every situation we face. Groups meet on Tuesday nights from 7-9 pm and Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am.
Join us in making and praying over quilts (and knitted or crocheted blankets, as we get them from our needle-crafting friends) for those in our community who are celebrating new babies, dealing with illness, moving into assisted living, or who might otherwise need a reminder that they are loved and are being prayed for. Contact Deya at firstname.lastname@example.org or the church office for more information!
Women’s Ministries is pleased to be planning our first mini-retreat, right here on the Orchard campus!
Open to women 8th grade and up!
If you’ve ever wanted to go on a Women’s Retreat but haven’t been able to get away (or if you had so much fun in the past and wish we could have one every year), this is your chance to get a glimpse of retreat life. Join us for Ladies’ Day Camp on April 25, from 8:30 am to 2 pm (with an optional walk at Kimball Park at 8 am).
We will focus our day around Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
We will share a breakfast potluck, have a time of worship and fellowship, and then split into different activities – such as a service project, a craft, a prayer walk, a Holy Yoga session (led by Pastor Jennifer Witten) – and then come together for a catered lunch, worship, and a brief message and time to talk in small groups.
Registration begins March 15. Questions, please contact Deya at email@example.com.
We hope to see you there!
