HE > All
Lenten Series
Many people in Jesus' day wondered who he was and had lots of different ideas about who he might be. So much so that at one point, Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do the people say I am?" and then, "Who do you say I am?" The truth is that many people today still wonder who Jesus was. Lent is a time to focus on Jesus, His life and teachings, and especially on the meaning of his death. We do this because we can't fully understand or celebrate Jesus' resurrection on Easter unless we first understand who He was and why he died. So with this series, we'll look at who people in Jesus' time said He was at points and, more importantly, at who He truly is. And as we do, each of us should ask, "Who do I say Jesus is?" Some of us may be considering this question for the first time; for others, it's a chance to think through who Jesus is more deeply as we seek to know Him more.

All I Want for Christmas is...
The statement, “All I want for Christmas…” is iconic in our culture, maybe even cliche. And at least a part of the reason is that it taps into a truth, into the longing of our hearts. I think many people have lifted prayers to God that began with, “All I want for Christmas…” And those prayers run the gambit. But along the way this phrase runs into the confusion we often have about our wants versus our true needs. With this series, we will seek to walk through the Advent and Christmas seasons focusing on the fact that at Christmas God’s desire is not to fulfill all our wants, but to meet the true needs of our hearts, the greatest of which is Jesus!
Thanks & Giving
As we come to the Holiday season, we begin with Thanksgiving. The word “thanksgiving” means being thankful for what we have been given. This is something we surely want to do. But these two words are also interrelated on a deeper level, and it all starts with God. Biblical stewardship is the recognition that all we have and all we are is a gift from God. When we realize this key spiritual truth, it changes our lives and perspective and should bring forth a response from us of both thanks and giving!
